Renovation of a swimming pool and surrounding area in a vacation house in Porto Rafti.

The project is a large-scale renovation of the pool and the surrounding area. The main problems were the following:

The filtration and recirculation of the pool was done with a compact unit, part of which was extending into the pool. There were also polyester stairs installed in the pool which had cracked causing water leak. The owner wished to remove this method of filtration because the noise from the filtration system during operation was annoying. Another reason for its removal was that it required frequent manual cleaning of the fabric filters through which the water was filtered and, finally, because of its poor aesthetics.

In addition, the surrounding area of the pool needed a complete renovation because the drainage was not adequate. The elevations of the surrounding area were wrong and the pool's coping stones as well as the paving were worn out.

The project we were commissioned involved complete pool renovation by constructing a new underground pump room, installing new filtration and recirculation equipment and new pool lights. We also installed a stainless steel fountain jet system from the surrounding area to the pool.

The owner's wish was to reduce the depth of the pool and build new pool steps. We decided to create a single depth flat bottom and create steps across the width of the pool.

An automatic electrolysis and pH regulation system was installed to disinfect the pool.

In the renovation of the surrounding area, we undertook the removal of the existing tiles and their subbase, the installation of the required linear drains as well as the supply and installation of the copings - tiles.
